About 2 months ago My husband and I moved to downtown Kalamazoo. Two weeks after we moved in we were victims of a home invasion. Then a week ago we had a lady in front our apartment screaming and then just a few minutes ago I had a guy knocking on my door. In each one of these situations Kalamazoo Public Safey responded very quickly. They were very professional and careing and each situation was handled without any further problems. We moved from Parchment and when similar situations occured there they did nothing and it made things very hard. I just want to say thank you for all you have done to keep all of us in the Vine area safe.

Det Beauchamp
To KDPS Offices, Command Staff, Chief Hadley, and Community ;
Words can not express the dedication to a case, the kindness to the victim and those associated with the case, and the efforts put into a case.
But with words I can say Thank you to KDPS, Det Beauchamp and the team members right down to the officers who responded in the early morning hours of August 7th, 2007. They were able to get a description of the suspects that helped shape a case that is finely near conclusion after the arrest and conviction of one suspect in 2008 and the arrest on Tuesday (2/21/2012) of the second suspect.
Thank you!

My 18yo daughter was home from CMU for the weekend on 11-05-2011 around 0130. She found herself on the north side of Kalamazoo on Westnedge Ave near the business loop. Her left front tire blew out and she hit the curb. Roadside Assistance said it would be up 1hr for a tow truck to get to her. I am a Medic with Pride Care and was on duty in Dowagiac and could not assist her. My wife called 911 and asked if someone could wait with her in the mean time. KDPS Officer Noble was kind enough enough to come and sit with her until the tow truck was on scene and was finished with his work. Thank you KDPS for taking care of my kid and keeping her safe when I was on duty.

Joshua Breese
In July 2011 two friends and I were headed to Chicago on the train when we had to get off in Kalamazoo because one of our children fell and needed stitches. We were so impressed with the response and kindness of all of your officers and EMT's who responded, but particularly with Officer Joshua Breese because once our little one was safe, he went above and beyond to get us back on our way safely. He took us to get child boosters for the kids, drove us to pick up a rental car, and kept the kids in good spirits the whole time. I felt so comfortable because I could tell he was not going to leave us until he was sure that we were safe and had everything we needed. His positive approached turned a potentially trip ending situation around and we wanted your department to know that we feel you are very blessed to have him working with you.
Thanks Again,
The Krawczyk, Rea and Hohner Families

Arron Jackson
On Sunday 7/31 two Husky like dogs were loose near the corner of North & Rose street. My family gathers here(at my grandmas) every Sunday for dinner. Even though these dogs seemed to be harmless we didn't feel safe. Around that time Mr. Jackson rode by. We flagged him down and made him aware of the situation. I could tell that he really didn't want to deal with these hot smelly dogs, but he knew that he had to make us feel safe. He went above and beyond to take control of the situation. He had to wait at least an hour for animal control to arrive. As he was waiting he was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. In most uraban communities police are not liked and viewed as the enemy. He gave my family a positive point of view. l would like to thank him for his great service!

Officer Noble responded to a neighbor complaining about loud music at a barbecue some friends were having on the Northside, that went into the night. He was calm, friendly, and understanding. He was receptive to the positions of those who were in attendance and his temperament clearly dispelled any thought that he "was out to get us". His cool demeanor made everyone feel comfortable and willing to comply with his requests. I have had some bad experiences with police in various cities but it was refreshing to interact with an officer that showed respect just as much as they expected it. I've never felt the desire to write positive feedback about an officer but I felt Officer Noble was well deserving of acknowledgement.

Engine 6
Just wanted to extend a big thanks for the 2 firefighters who responded to my call of service this afternoon. It was a scary experience hearing the powelines popping, seeing blue sparks running along them and then smoke emerge from the trees above the lines. You promptly arrived on scene and reassured me that nothing more could happen since the power had gone out and you couldn't see anymore smoke from the trees. You also expressed your dissatisfaction regarding the trees and branches that were covering the power lines and let me know you would be placing a call to Consumers. When I arrived back home a few hours later power had been restored and the branches had been cleared away from the lines.
Thank you for all you do to keep my neighborhood safe.

Chief Hadley:
As you are aware, the City of Battle Creek was hit hard by severe storms on Sunday May 29, 2011. The gesture of sending KDPS Officers to Battle Creek to assist BCPD in the management of that weather related crisis, is appreciated more than you know. The officers that were called in early and those that were mandated to stay late after their shift ended, were extremely grateful for the extra help. It's so wonderful to be a part of this community, and to see KDPS reach out and beyond our County parameters to help other brothers and sisters in blue keep their community safe.
Additionally, I think the First Annual EZ Memorial Ride this past Saturday is a testament to how highly valued KDPS is within our community. Even in the cold and rain-threatening weather, there were dozens of supporters lining the route holding signs in support and honoring our fallen hero.
Everything I have seen the past few months as it relates to the Department you lead, brings me to just one conclusion-KDPS is the best Public Safety Department in this country-bar none. Thank you for all you do.
