On Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. Kalamazoo Public
Safety Officers will take 22 Kalamazoo area kids Christmas shopping for gifts for
themselves and for their families. This event will take place at Meijer’s on Gull Road.
Meijer’s has joined hands again with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety in
sponsoring the 2012 “Shop with a Public Safety Officer” holiday event by donating
$2,500. Meijer’s Corporation has been a proud sponsor for the past three years.
“Shop with a Public Safety Officer” was developed to help make the holidays brighter for
Kalamazoo area families during these trying economic times. We sincerely hope this
program will continue to help bring the spirit of Christmas into their homes with holiday
gifts. This program also allows area kids a chance to interact with Kalamazoo Public
Safety Officers in a positive setting
This is truly an example of a corporation taking part and making a difference in its
community. It is through their support that we are able to make these children's dreams
and wishes come true. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety would like to thank the
Meijer’s Corporation of Kalamazoo for making this event possible.
