Personal Injury Crash
On September 24, 2012 at 12:20am, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers were dispatched to a one-car crash at the intersection of Springmont and Barnard Streets. Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers arrived and located a vehicle that had struck a tree with the injured driver trapped inside. The driver, a 35 year old male Bangor resident, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Bronson Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The on-scene investigation revealed the vehicle was heading east on Springmont St. at a high rate of speed and was unable to negotiate the intersection at Barnard St. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a large tree resulting in extensive damage to the vehicle. Drugs and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
