SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR BREAKING INTO LOCAL COFFEE SHOP

Kalamazoo, MI:  On December 5, 2012 at 5:12 a.m., Kalamazoo Public Safety  responded to Water Street Coffee Joint, located at 3037 Oakland Drive, on a report that someone may be trying to break into the business.  An employee of the Rich Gas Station located across the street called 911 to report a suspicious male subject near the building and a loud banging noise coming from the area.

 

Officers surrounded the business and found a broken window.  They then heard the suspect moving around inside the business.  Officers entered the coffee shop and arrested the subject without incident.  The suspect is a 36-year-old Kalamazoo resident.  He has been lodged at Kalamazoo County jail pending arraignment on charges of Breaking and Entering.
